The Fields of Sports Medicine - 917 Words
Throughout the health field there are many job opportunities and branches. One of those branches is sports medicine. With sports medicine there are many options to choose from. A person could be an athletic trainer, physical therapist, dietitian/nutritionist, an orthopedics doctor, or even a nurse. Each career is special in its own way and helps people in different ways also. The jobs can also coexist in the same office while equally contributing to the others. It all starts with the office. In most cases, the clinic, or office, is a branch of a hospital. Each office usually has a Dr, or Doctors that use the space for their clinical. Each of the doctors usually goes to school for the same amount of time but might specialize in different body parts. Most of the school for doctors includes a lot of anatomy, physiology, biology, pharmacology and math. Along with orthopedic doctors there are also osteopathy doctors. These doctors are the physicians who diagnose illness and oversee treatment for patients. These doctors also specialize in hands-on diagnosis and treatment which focuses specifically on the musculoskeletal system. Their salary ranges from $140,000 to $300,000 and can spend anywhere from eleven to eighteen years in school.
